Stuck with Office files you don't love?

Google have a solution for the issue of opening attachments sent in Microsoft Office formats. From this week in GMail you can now open and edit files sent to you as an attachment in a Microsoft Office file format to Google Docs directly from the e-mail message.

To get started open your e-mail which has the attachment and scroll to the bottom of the screen to show the attachments, and click on the pen icon when you hover over the attachment. It will now open your file in Google Docs, Sheets or Slides. (See image on left for an example)

The following video shows this feature, and also allows you to discover new ways of managing your inbox and e-mails.
